John Mann

John has worked in Commerce for over 45 years, working as Project Director and Programme Director on large scale multimillion-pound IT projects across Retail, Manufacturing, Finance, Local Government and Education Sectors.  One such project was the early pathfinder DfE project in Bristol during which the positive impact of technology on teaching and learning was confirmed.

John has set up and ran organisations in the North West, which grew into a multimillion-pound business providing services into Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special Needs Schools. He has also served on many Governing Bodies, both as Governor and Chair.   John is currently the Chair and Finance Director of the Star Academy Trust.

Iain McGregor

Iain has worked primarily in IT Management positions, which has given him relevant experience for his roles on the various committees to help guide and advise the school wherever possible.

Craig Hartley

Craig has worked as an engineer within several manufacturing facilities in the automotive industry for the last 20 years. Craig’s experience and knowledge have proved invaluable in supporting the trust through a period of significant capital investment. Craig is the Operations Director, with primary responsibility for premises and health and safety.

Tim Manson

Tim is Chair of The Brookfield School Ltd; Chair of Smallwood CE Primary Academy; Member of star Academy Trust and on the Board of Governors for Theatr Clwyd.

Tim was Chair of the Shadow Board of Theatr Clwyd, to oversee its Transfers from Local Authority to Trust; this was completed on the 15th December 2020. Tim was also Operations and Policy Director at Marketing Birmingham/West Midlands Growth Company between July 2005 and May 2017.

As a member of the Executive Team at Marketing Birmingham he had strategic responsibility for public sector funding including the Companies £21.5m ERDF project. Tim was also responsible for policy, research and strategic planning.

Marketing Birmingham managed the Inward Investment, Visitor Economy and Strategic Marketing functions for Birmingham and a number of other agencies in the region.

Tim has held a number of Non-Executive Directorships through-out his career: Chair & Secretary of Mold; Chair of Geese Theatre Company; a Non-Executive/Trustee of the Central Learning Partnership Trust (CLPT); a Non-Executive/Trustee of Star Academy Trust; Board member of Dance Xchange and British Association of Conference Destinations (BACD) and Board member of Marketing Birmingham Ltd (2009-2017).

Paul Morgan

Paul has worked in the hospitality sector for over 30 years. He is experienced across the whole range of corporate departments and has led UK and International teams through sustained periods of growth and change.

Paul Uttley

Paul started his career as a secondary school teacher for 6 years before working in Educational Publishing for many years latterly in Sales and Marketing Director positions.
Since 2001, Paul has established and run his 2 medium-sized businesses and has a good understanding of the challenges of growth and developing organisations.
Paul is a trustee and co-ordinator of Care for Zambia, a charity working with children in vulnerable situations through the agency of a children’s village and a primary school both funded by the charity.
